We have designed this system to fit in a factory location, with matching lines and optional check valve (if you get the PCV can with it). Drivers side, or the 'dirty' side as its often referred.

Dumping the drivers side into the exhaust is a solution for sure. Not to say that is representative of everyones car, but most people catch oil on the drivers side. It has a mesh screen and filter material that traps the oil and vapor. An oil separator is placed in line between PCV hoses. If you are going to get an oil catch can and only have the funds for one, get one for the breather side. My drivers side catch can definitely catches a good amount of oil. A catch can is designed with baffling on the inside to trap oil and vapor in the bottom side of the reservoir while still allowing the crankcase to breathe freely through a filter that’s on the top side.

Oil getting sucking into the turbo and deposits throughout the whole intercooler system will cause all sorts of performance restrictions and power limitations. When driven hard under track conditions we documented oil getting pushed out of the breather side. In our testing we found that the breather side of the OCC system was more problematic than the PCV side.
